Role Overview – Cogentcube is hiring a Cybersecurity Analyst for a full-time remote position based in the USA. This role is suited to a security-focused professional with strong skills in threat monitoring, security analysis, vulnerability management, incident response, and cybersecurity risk assessment. The successful candidate will help monitor systems, investigate suspicious activity, respond to security incidents, and strengthen the organization’s overall security posture.

Security Monitoring – You will monitor security alerts, system activity, network events, and logs to identify potential threats. You should recognize unusual activity and respond according to established security procedures.

Threat Detection – You will analyze security events and investigate indicators of compromise or suspicious behavior. You should assess potential threats carefully and document relevant findings.

Incident Response – You will assist with investigating and responding to cybersecurity incidents. You should follow incident-response procedures and escalate critical issues when necessary.

Vulnerability Management – You will help identify, assess, and track vulnerabilities across systems and applications. You should prioritize security risks and support timely remediation.

Security Analysis – You will analyze technical information from security tools, logs, alerts, and other sources to determine potential security risks. You should provide clear and accurate analysis.

Log Monitoring – You will review system, application, endpoint, and network logs for suspicious patterns or unauthorized activity. You should maintain detailed records of important findings.

Endpoint Security – You will support monitoring and protection of company endpoints, devices, and systems. You should help identify potential security weaknesses and unusual endpoint behavior.

Security Tools – You will work with cybersecurity platforms and tools used for monitoring, detection, investigation, and vulnerability management. You should use these tools effectively and maintain accurate records.

Risk Assessment – You will assist in identifying cybersecurity risks and evaluating their potential impact on business operations. You should communicate significant risks to the appropriate teams.

Security Documentation – You will maintain incident reports, investigation notes, vulnerability records, procedures, and other security documentation. You should keep all records organized and up to date.

Access Monitoring – You will support monitoring of authentication activity, user access, and security permissions. You should help identify unusual or unauthorized access.

Compliance Support – You will assist with cybersecurity audits, internal reviews, security policies, and compliance requirements. You should ensure relevant evidence and documentation are properly maintained.

Security Improvements – You will identify recurring security issues and recommend practical improvements to strengthen security controls and processes. You should take a proactive approach to cybersecurity.

Cross-Team Collaboration – You will work with IT, infrastructure, development, and other teams during security investigations and remediation activities. You should communicate technical information clearly.

Security Reporting – You will assist with preparing incident summaries, vulnerability reports, security updates, and management reports. You should ensure information is accurate and easy to understand.

Remote Collaboration – You will collaborate with team members through remote communication and security-management tools. You should manage assigned tasks independently while maintaining reliable communication.

Confidentiality – You will handle sensitive security information, technical data, and incident details responsibly. You should maintain strict confidentiality and follow security procedures.
