Role Overview – IDC Technologies. Pvt. Ltd is hiring a Database Architect for a full-time, remote position serving Malaysia-based operations. This position is ideal for experienced database professionals with strong architectural expertise, database optimization knowledge, and the ability to design enterprise database solutions effectively, manage complex database infrastructure, ensure data security and compliance, optimize performance, and support organizational data management excellence within a dynamic technology organization.

Database Architecture Design – You will design enterprise database architectures by creating comprehensive database solutions, planning infrastructure requirements, and establishing design standards. You will architect scalable systems, optimize performance, and ensure architectural alignment with business requirements. You will document architecture decisions and maintain architectural consistency.

Database Schema and Data Model Development – You will develop database schemas and data models by designing structures optimized for performance, usability, and scalability. You will create logical and physical models, establish naming conventions, and design normalized schemas. You will document schema designs and support model optimization and evolution.

Database Capacity Planning and Scalability – You will plan database capacity requirements by analyzing growth projections, forecasting storage needs, and planning infrastructure expansion. You will design scalable solutions supporting growth, implement partitioning strategies, and optimize resource utilization. You will ensure systems accommodate future expansion.

Performance Optimization and Tuning – You will optimize database performance by analyzing query execution, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimizations. You will tune indexes, optimize queries, implement caching strategies, and monitor performance metrics. You will maintain optimal system responsiveness and efficiency.

High Availability and Disaster Recovery Design – You will design high availability and disaster recovery solutions by implementing redundancy, establishing backup strategies, and planning recovery procedures. You will design failover mechanisms, establish recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO), and test recovery procedures. You will ensure business continuity.

Database Security and Access Control – You will implement database security by designing access control mechanisms, configuring authentication and authorization, and protecting sensitive data. You will implement encryption, manage user permissions, audit access, and ensure compliance with security standards. You will protect data confidentiality and integrity.

Data Governance and Metadata Management – You will establish data governance by developing data management standards, implementing metadata systems, and ensuring data quality. You will establish data classification, create data catalogs, and support data stewardship. You will document data assets and maintain data lineage.

Backup and Recovery Strategy Development – You will develop comprehensive backup and recovery strategies by planning backup frequency, selecting backup technologies, and establishing recovery procedures. You will implement backup solutions, coordinate testing, and maintain recovery documentation. You will ensure data protection and business continuity.
