Role Overview

CosMic-IT is seeking a skilled and experienced Factory Automation Consultant to join our team in a remote capacity based in Germany. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting industrial clients by analyzing manufacturing processes, implementing automation solutions, and optimizing production systems. This role requires a strong technical background in factory automation, industrial systems, and digital transformation initiatives, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and operations teams. The Factory Automation Consultant will contribute to improving operational efficiency, reducing production costs, and enhancing overall system performance for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

As a Factory Automation Consultant, you will evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to implement automation technologies that improve efficiency and productivity. You will collaborate with engineering teams, system integrators, and stakeholders to design and implement automation strategies tailored to client requirements. Your role will involve analyzing technical specifications, recommending suitable automation systems, and supporting integration of PLCs, SCADA, robotics, and other industrial control technologies. You will also assist with troubleshooting automation systems, ensuring optimal performance, and providing guidance during system upgrades or new implementations. In addition, you will prepare technical documentation, provide consulting support during project lifecycles, and stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices in factory automation.

Requirements & Qualifications

Candidates should have proven experience in factory automation, industrial engineering, or automation consulting roles. A strong understanding of PLC programming, SCADA systems, industrial robotics, and manufacturing execution systems is highly desirable. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to evaluate complex manufacturing environments and recommend effective automation solutions. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with international teams in a remote environment are essential. Experience working within European manufacturing environments or knowledge of German industrial standards will be considered an advantage.
