Role Overview – Rissox is hiring a Full Stack WordPress Developer for a full-time, remote role based in the United Kingdom. This position is ideal for experienced WordPress developers with strong full stack capabilities, front-end and back-end development expertise, and the ability to build, customize, and maintain high-quality WordPress websites and applications independently in a remote work environment.

WordPress Development and Customization – You will develop and customize WordPress websites by building custom themes, developing plugins, implementing page builders, creating custom post types and taxonomies, and delivering tailored WordPress solutions that meet client requirements and business objectives.

Front-End Development – You will develop responsive, modern front-end interfaces by writing clean HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS/SASS), and JavaScript (vanilla JS, jQuery), creating pixel-perfect designs from mockups, ensuring cross-browser compatibility, and delivering seamless user experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

Back-End Development and PHP – You will develop back-end functionality using PHP by writing custom WordPress functions, developing REST APIs, integrating with third-party services, implementing server-side logic, and ensuring robust, secure, and scalable back-end architecture.

Custom Theme Development – You will create custom WordPress themes from scratch by converting design files (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch) into fully functional themes, implementing responsive layouts, optimizing for performance, and ensuring themes adhere to WordPress coding standards and best practices.

Plugin Development and Customization – You will develop custom WordPress plugins and customize existing plugins by extending functionality, implementing hooks and filters, creating admin interfaces, and building reusable, modular code that enhances WordPress capabilities.

WooCommerce Development – You will develop and customize WooCommerce solutions by building custom eCommerce features, integrating payment gateways, customizing product pages, implementing checkout workflows, and delivering complete online shopping experiences.

Page Builder and Gutenberg Development – You will work with page builders (Elementor, WPBakery, Divi) and Gutenberg block editor by creating custom blocks, developing page builder widgets, and enabling clients to manage content efficiently through visual editing interfaces.

Database Management and MySQL – You will manage WordPress databases using MySQL by writing custom queries, optimizing database performance, implementing data migrations, and ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval for WordPress applications.

API Integration and Development – You will integrate and develop REST APIs and third-party services by connecting WordPress with external platforms (CRMs, payment gateways, marketing tools), consuming APIs, and building custom endpoints for headless WordPress implementations.

Performance Optimization – You will optimize WordPress website performance by implementing caching strategies, optimizing images and assets, minifying CSS/JS, configuring CDNs, reducing server response times, and ensuring fast page load speeds and excellent Core Web Vitals scores.

Security and Best Practices – You will implement WordPress security best practices by securing themes and plugins, sanitizing and validating inputs, implementing authentication and authorization, preventing SQL injection and XSS attacks, and ensuring websites are protected against vulnerabilities.

Version Control and Deployment – You will use version control systems (Git, GitHub, Bitbucket) by managing code repositories, implementing branching strategies, collaborating with teams, and deploying WordPress sites to staging and production environments using CI/CD workflows.
