Job Description
For NDIS providers, financial management is not just about numbers—it is about ensuring participants receive the support they need without administrative barriers. Remote Talent, an Australian-based virtual assistant and offshore staffing agency, is looking for an NDIS Senior Bookkeeper who understands the intricacies of the NDIS financial landscape and can manage the full finance function with precision and confidence.
This is a role for an experienced bookkeeper who has worked with Australian NDIS providers and knows the systems, the compliance requirements, and the unique challenges of this sector. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records using Xero, managing reconciliations, and preparing P&L statements, BAS/IAS, and payroll reports. You will also handle payroll under the SCHADS Award, ensuring correct classification, penalty rates, and compliance. Your expertise will directly support the financial health of NDIS providers and their ability to deliver services seamlessly.
The ideal candidate has proven experience as a bookkeeper for an Australian NDIS provider, with strong proficiency in Xero and reconciliation skills. You have experience with P&L reporting, BAS/IAS preparation, and payroll reporting, including a solid understanding of the SCHADS Award. You are detail-oriented, organised, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment. Experience with PRODA/PACE, Employment Hero, or ShiftCare is an advantage.

Demonstrate your expertise with the SCHADS Award by detailing your experience with payroll processing, including how you have handled penalty rates, allowances, and pay point progression. In your cover letter, briefly explain your understanding of the NDIS price guide, claiming rules, and the differences between plan-managed, self-managed, and agency-managed billing. Finally, confirm your availability to work during Australian business hours and your ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
