Role Overview – SCLCO we are seeking a qualified Project Engineer based in Egypt to join our team and support the effective follow-up and execution of ongoing projects, ensuring continuity and efficiency. This position offers flexibility in working arrangements with both full-time and part-time opportunities available, depending on candidate availability and project requirements.
Project Monitoring and Scheduling – You will monitor the progress of all projects and ensure strict adherence to approved schedules and timelines. Tracking project milestones, identifying potential delays, and implementing corrective actions to keep projects on track. Using project management tools like Primavera P6 to monitor critical paths, update schedules, and generate progress reports that provide clear visibility into project status.
Project Coordination – Coordinating with project teams including site engineers, supervisors, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure execution in line with specifications and contractual requirements. Acting as a liaison between different stakeholders, facilitating communication, and resolving issues that may impact project delivery. Ensuring all parties understand their responsibilities and deliverables.
Progress Reporting – Preparing and submitting comprehensive periodic progress reports to management including weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports. Creating detailed documentation of project status, achievements, challenges, and recommendations. Presenting information in clear formats using Excel, Power BI dashboards, and written reports that enable management to make informed decisions.
Experience Requirement – Minimum 5 years of proven experience in project management or project execution follow-up is essential. Your experience should demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinate with diverse teams, and deliver projects on time and within budget. Experience in construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects is preferred.
Steel/Metal Works Expertise – Strong experience in steel and metal works is required for this position. You should have hands-on knowledge of steel fabrication processes, structural steel installation, quality standards for welding and connections, and safety requirements for metalworks. Understanding of steel design principles, material specifications, and industry standards (AISC, AWS, or similar).
Software Proficiency - Primavera – Good knowledge of Primavera P6 for project scheduling, resource allocation, and progress tracking is essential. Ability to create baseline schedules, update progress, analyze critical paths, and generate reports from Primavera. Understanding of scheduling concepts including dependencies, float, and earned value management.
Software Proficiency - AutoCAD – Proficiency in AutoCAD for reading and interpreting technical drawings, structural plans, fabrication drawings, and shop drawings. Ability to review drawings for accuracy, identify discrepancies, and coordinate design changes with engineering teams and contractors.
Problem-Solving Abilities – Proactive problem-solving skills to identify potential issues before they escalate and implement effective solutions. Analytical thinking to assess situations, evaluate alternatives, and make sound decisions that support project objectives.
Work Arrangement – This position offers flexible work arrangements with options for remote work and site-based presence as required by project needs. You may need to visit project sites for inspections, coordination meetings, and progress verification. Willingness to travel within Egypt as needed for project requirements.
