About the Role

Vasquez + Company LLP is looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Senior Accountant to join our growing team in a fully remote work-from-home capacity. This position is ideal for candidates with strong general accounting experience and exposure to various industries who are seeking a stable remote opportunity with professional growth potential. You'll be responsible for processing accounts payable and handling other general accounting transactions accurately and efficiently to maintain smooth financial operations across multiple client accounts. Your role will involve performing bank reconciliations and account reconciliations regularly to ensure all financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and properly balanced.

 You'll maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts for various clients across different industries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and client-specific requirements. You'll prepare monthly and annual financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other financial documents required by clients and regulatory bodies. You'll assist in brokerage and fleet accounting as applicable, handling specialized accounting tasks related to these industries and ensuring proper documentation and reporting. You'll support accounting functions for various industries including government entities, non-profit organizations, and business management services, adapting to each sector's unique accounting requirements and regulatory frameworks.

You'll perform other accounting-related tasks as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities as the business grows. You'll work independently in a remote setup while maintaining regular communication with team members and supervisors to ensure alignment on priorities and deliverables. The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting, is highly organized and detail-oriented, and can work effectively without direct supervision while managing multiple client accounts and meeting deadlines consistently.

What We're Looking For

We need an Senior Accountant with a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy and at least 1 year of experience in general accounting or related roles demonstrating competence in core accounting functions. A CPA license is preferred but not required, with Philippine CPA being considered a significant advantage for candidates who hold this credential. You must have strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and best practices that ensure accurate and compliant financial record-keeping across various business types. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and basic office applications including Excel, Word, and email platforms is required to perform daily accounting tasks and communicate effectively with clients and team members.

The ideal candidate is highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, capable of identifying discrepancies, maintaining accuracy in data entry, and ensuring all financial records are properly documented and reconciled. Ability to work independently in a remote setup is essential, including self-motivation, time management skills, and the capacity to prioritize tasks without constant supervision while meeting deadlines consistently. Strong communication skills are necessary for coordinating with clients, team members, and supervisors remotely, providing updates on work progress, and seeking clarification when needed. Experience handling multiple clients or industries is preferred, as this demonstrates versatility and the ability to adapt accounting practices to different business models and regulatory requirements.
