Role Overview – BitSquad Software is hiring a Senior SharePoint Consultant  with 6 to 8 years of experience including relevant migration experience (mandatory) for a remote position. This role is ideal for experienced SharePoint professionals who can plan and implement comprehensive SharePoint migration strategies covering content, metadata, workflows, and permissions.

Migration Strategy Planning – You will plan SharePoint migration strategies by assessing current environments, analyzing content and configurations, defining migration scope, identifying risks and dependencies, creating detailed migration roadmaps, and establishing comprehensive plans that guide successful migrations from legacy systems or older Senior SharePoint Consultant  versions to modern platforms.

Migration Implementation – You will implement SharePoint migrations including content migration, metadata preservation, workflow recreation or replacement, permissions mapping and transfer, customization migration, and ensuring all components are successfully migrated to target SharePoint environments with minimal disruption.

Content Migration – You will migrate SharePoint content including documents, lists, libraries, pages, and other content types. Your content migration ensures all information is transferred accurately, organized properly, and accessible in the new environment.

Metadata Preservation – You will preserve metadata during migrations by mapping metadata fields, ensuring data integrity, maintaining relationships between content and metadata, and ensuring metadata-driven functionality continues working after migration.

Workflow Migration – You will handle workflow migration by assessing existing workflows, determining migration or redesign approaches, recreating workflows in modern platforms, testing functionality, and ensuring business processes continue operating smoothly post-migration.

Permissions Migration – You will migrate permissions by mapping security groups, transferring access rights, maintaining permission inheritance structures, validating access controls, and ensuring security models are properly implemented in target environments.

OnBase Migration Expertise – You will leverage OnBase migration experience to handle migrations from OnBase document management systems to SharePoint, understanding both platforms, mapping functionalities, migrating documents and workflows, and ensuring successful transitions from OnBase to SharePoint environments.

Testing and Validation – You will conduct thorough testing and validation including verifying content accuracy, testing workflows, validating permissions, confirming metadata integrity, and ensuring all migrated components function correctly before cutover.

SharePoint Experience – 6 to 8 years of experience with SharePoint is required, demonstrating deep expertise in SharePoint architecture, administration, content management, workflows, permissions, and platform capabilities across different SharePoint versions.

Migration Experience (Mandatory) – Relevant migration experience is mandatory. You must have hands-on experience planning and executing SharePoint migrations, including content, metadata, workflows, and permissions migrations from various source systems.

OnBase Knowledge – OnBase experience is essential for this role. You should understand OnBase document management system, its capabilities, and how to migrate from OnBase to SharePoint effectively.

Technical Migration Skills – Technical skills in migration tools, PowerShell scripting, SharePoint APIs, migration methodologies, and the ability to handle complex migration scenarios are important for successful project execution.

Problem-Solving Abilities – Strong problem-solving abilities are crucial for addressing migration challenges, resolving technical issues, finding solutions to complex scenarios, and ensuring migrations succeed despite obstacles.

Project Management – Project management capabilities including planning, timeline management, stakeholder communication, risk management, and delivering migrations within scope and schedule are important for this consultant role.

Communication Skills – Excellent communication skills are essential for gathering requirements, explaining migration approaches, coordinating with stakeholders, documenting migration plans, and providing status updates throughout migration projects.

Remote Work Capability – The ability to work effectively in a remote environment is required. You should be self-directed, organized, capable of managing complex technical projects remotely, and comfortable with virtual collaboration.
