About the Role

Programmers.ai is urgently hiring a Sr. DevOps Engineer with 4-8 years of hands-on experience to manage AWS infrastructure and drive DevOps excellence during evening to late-night shift hours. This remote position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced DevOps professional to work on complex cloud infrastructure projects while enjoying location flexibility. You'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable AWS infrastructure using services like EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, Route 53, IAM, and CloudFormation to support production workloads. Your role will involve implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CDK to automate infrastructure provisioning and maintain consistency across environments, managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and AWS CodePipeline for seamless application deployments. You'll orchestrate containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters with Helm charts and Argo CD for GitOps-based continuous delivery, and perform Linux system administration on Ubuntu servers including scripting with Bash and Python for automation tasks. You'll implement and maintain monitoring solutions using New Relic and CloudWatch to track application performance and infrastructure health, configure AWS AutoScaling, Load Balancers, CodeDeploy, and Elastic File System for high availability and scalability. 

What We're Looking For

We need a senior DevOps professional with 4-10 years of hands-on experience in AWS infrastructure and DevOps practices demonstrating expertise across the full technology stack. You must have strong knowledge of core AWS services including EC2 for compute, RDS for managed databases, S3 for object storage, Lambda for serverless functions, Route 53 for DNS management, IAM for access control, and CloudFormation for infrastructure templates. Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or AWS CDK is essential for automating infrastructure management. The ideal candidate has proficiency in Linux administration specifically with Ubuntu, along with strong scripting skills in Bash and Python for system automation and troubleshooting. Experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and AWS CodePipeline is required for building and maintaining deployment pipelines. Familiarity with Docker containerization and Kubernetes container orchestration is essential, along with hands-on experience using Helm for Kubernetes package management and Argo CD for GitOps workflows. Strong understanding of cloud security best practices including IAM policies, security groups, encryption, and compliance is crucial. Experience working with Ruby on Rails applications, Ext.js JavaScript framework, and PostgreSQL databases is required. Knowledge of AWS AutoScaling for dynamic resource management, Load Balancers for traffic distribution, CodeDeploy for automated deployments, and Elastic File System for shared storage is essential.
