About the Role

The GAO Group, headquartered in NYC, USA, and Toronto, Canada, is seeking a highly skilled Virtual WordPress Web Developer/Designer to join our team. Our member companies, incorporated in both the USA and Canada, are leading suppliers of advanced electronics and network products for engineers worldwide. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work from anywhere while collaborating with clients and team members across digital channels on cutting-edge web development projects. You'll be responsible for designing and developing WordPress websites using themes such as Elementor, Gutenberg, and WPBakery, or working with child themes to create custom solutions. Your role will involve customizing and modifying WordPress themes and templates to align with brand identity and aesthetic preferences, creating responsive web designs that provide optimal viewing experiences across various devices and screen sizes, and ensuring website performance through optimization for speed and SEO. You'll troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to WordPress websites remotely, stay updated with the latest web design trends, WordPress updates, and emerging technologies to continuously improve your skills and the quality of our work, and create and modify child themes as per specific project requirements. This position is perfect for someone who combines technical WordPress expertise with creative design skills and thrives in a remote work environment.

What We're Looking For

We need a WordPress development professional with proven experience as a WordPress Web Developer/Designer, supported by a strong portfolio showcasing your previous work and successful projects. Proficiency in WordPress CMS and popular page builders like Elementor, WP Bakery, and Gutenberg is essential for this role. The ideal candidate has basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript to customize and extend WordPress functionality effectively. Knowledge of theme and plugin development is required to create custom solutions when needed. You should possess a strong understanding of web design principles, responsive design techniques, and SEO best practices to ensure all websites perform optimally. Excellent visual design skills and a keen eye for detail are crucial for delivering high-quality, aesthetically pleasing websites. Effective communication skills for virtual meetings and collaboration with remote team members and clients are essential in this virtual role. We welcome applications from high school graduates (12th/+2 passed out) who are not currently enrolled in their Bachelor's program but are passionate about web development and eager to learn and grow in this field.
